i was wondering what all of you thought about the incorporation of sensory language in the story. do you think it is specific to the author's writing style? or specific to the book? what role does it play, how does it enhance or alter the story? does it work? i was just wondering what you thought.

Roy is an outstanding writer and her choice of words on sensory details pull you further into the book. Im amazed by the way she can invent her own word to describe something she needs to have and perfect description for, sometimes they are so vivid you can really picture everything in your mind.

i agree. i think its a beautiful way to write and it relates to the way i like to write. finding someone else who writes like me is somewhat comforting.
