Estha's Two Thoughts: 1) Anything can happen to anyone. 2) It's best to be prepared. These thoughts are reoccuring throughout the mid/end part of the book. I am not sure what the twin's ages are, but I think these thoughts are important and are going to help Estha while he is trying to figure out the world. These thoughts are caused by his experiences in life so far. I wonder if Rahel is thinking of anything like this, and if these thoughts will help Estha in the future.

What the 'Orangedrink Lemondrink man' did to Estha was a tragic. Estha started to fear the 'Oragedrink Lemondrink man' after the tragic event. However, after experiencing this tragic happening, Estha started to think very wise and smart for a 9 year old boy. People gain wisdom as they experience tragedy.

Did these two things help Estha cope with the death of Sophie Mol and with the painful tragedy of Velutha's arrest and death? or were these only ideas of wishful thinking?

I agree with Yeon Jae, because after you have experienced something tragic or traumatizing it becomes something that you can grow from and learn from. To always be careful around strangers.
