maybe because she can understand them. they are simple and are what they look like. but with humans and concepts, she cannot understand them, it scares her and she needs something to be solid and simple.
I think that Baby find comfort in material things for similar reasons, she doesn't have to think to understand them. Also, I feel as if she has thinks she has paid her dues, and now she can relax and do what she wants, rather than caring for ohers as she has done in the past.
